Drumkilly’s Music Man.

Drumkilly’s best known musician is Peter Leddy who has been playing the accordion for over 60 years.

Peter has played in bands all of his life starting with the ‘Five Star Ceili Band ‘ which included his lifelong friend Johnny Conaty ,Benny Comiskey, Tom Comiskey,Tommy Boylan,Eamon Boylan, Mattie Lee, Mata Lynch, John Higgins,Sean Kerrigan and Michael Sheridan.

Peter lists George Ross, Kieran Kelly, Paddy O’Brien and Joe Burke as having great musical influence on him and he also greatly admired the legendary Eugene Leddy from Butlersbridge as a master of his craft.

In 2004 Peter received a special award from the NYAH festival committee for his contribution to music and nothing gave him greater pleasure than when the Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann came to Cavan in 2010, 2011, and 2012.
